A Little About Me

"Health is a state of complete harmony of the body, mind and spirit. When one is free from physical disabilities and mental distractions, the gates of the soul open."
-B.K.S. Iyengar

"A healthy body is the guest-chamber of the soul; a sick, it's prison"
- Francis Bacon
I first had contact with The Pacific Center for Awareness and Bodywork through close friendships with several students in the class of 2002. During this time I had my first encounters with yoga and structural integration, two things which compliment each other very much. I had spent 5 years hunkered in front of a computer, working an average of 80-90 hours per week, and my body was not happy with me. I was looking for help, and I found it on beautiful Larson's Beach. I was not financially able to attend at that time, as I had lost my gamble with the internet boom, but knew that it was an experience that I was to have in the future.

Fast forward to 2007. I was living on the Big Island, and was looking for that next step. How perfect that only a few islands over held my answer. I was ready financially, and my soul was eager to learn the art of structural bodywork. I enrolled in the class of 2008 and devoured the 700-hour intensive course and was asking for seconds. The primary instructor heard my asking, and offered me a return trip as assistant teacher for 2009. I began a private practice, but began to feel an itch to leave the island. In November of 2008, I moved to Portland, Oregon, to further pursue a sound body, mind and soul.
